Sinister: The silent howling

23/09/08  ||  Kampfar

Life is a sinister affair, oh how I wish I wasn’t here.

Fuck life, fuck you, in fact, fuck everything besides proper fucking music and “Top Gear”. And “Generation Kil“l. And “Tom & Jerry”. And… fuck, no wonder I haven’t finished myself off yet. Then again, I’m living in a country doing the job for me, so why bother? Fuck Whoreway and let me now switch over to the Dutch legend known as Sinister.

“Afterburner” saw Sinister strike back with a vengeance, that after two fairly weak and bland albums, showcasing a band evolved into something tighter and sharper – much like Cannibal Corpse and a full-time whore never will. I understand why CC won’t replace Paul, seems like a very nice guy, but a sloppy drummer he remains. And so was Aad, not as badly infected as the American, I admit, but for “Afterburner” he had anyways replaced himself and picked up the mic instead.

Wow, this fucking review is turning out be nothing more than an intro. Piss me in the eyes, I must get going.

“The silent howling” is a full on deathfest performed by members who sound up for some war, torture and bloody murder, not admitting a single comprise while at it. It’s not the brutality making me say this, more the no fucking bullshit attitude saturating the bloody beef. The time for comprise is over, shoot your enemy in the face, whoever it might be, is the messages I get from this. Yeah, women too, for if it bleeds…

If someone had actually performed a kill after reading this, I think the fuckwits parents should have been electrocuted in public while being pissed on by lady elephants.

If you are after pure bred death and not an orgy of identity crisis and blandness in hideous disharmony, like 97% of all death metal bands are nowadays, go for “The silent howling”. If it hadn’t been for Hail Of Bullets, this would have been the best Dutch death release this very year. I’m sure of that.

8 out of 10.
